“Anyway, I think to get interesting character rendering doesn’t really rely on the renderer you use but on you artistic skills. What I mean is… If you model/sculpt in a nice fleshy and accurate way, spend enough time to paint good textures, add some SSS, blurry reflection and light it with GI and love, you’re most likely to get interesting result… The rest is having the right shaders, improving all the tiny subtle details that make the all difference between a good, great or totally realistic character.”

“For instance… I think your skin shading work is fantastic and I totally understand why some people would ask you to see your shader setup/network but to be honest I’m not at all interested in it… Really… The reason is that for me it’s the way you see/observe things that make you tweak or do what you need to get the result that brings you some satisfactions.”
